Corker Hill

National Historic Register of Historic Places

Verbal Boundary Description

The boundary of the nominated property includes the entire approximately 8.5-acre parcel known as #9 on the Franklin County tax map C-13, and approximately 26 acres of parcel 8A on Franklin County tax map C-13, excluding the ~2.5-acre segment located south of Phillaman Run (see attached tax map).

Boundary Justification

The nominated property boundary includes the buildings historically associated with the Corker Hill domestic and farming operation and associated acreage which retains the historic setting of the building complex, bounded on the southwest by Phillaman Run, on the northeast by the Rt. 997 By-pass, and by the northwest and southeast boundary lines of Parcel 8A.

Approximately 2.5 acres of Parcel 8A deeded property (shown on the attached tax map along the southern boundary of Parcel 9 with four buildings) has been excluded from the nominated property because it has lost its historic integrity of use and association with the historic farm.  The excluded acreage is separated from the nominated property by Phillamon Run which forms the southwestern boundary of the nominated property.
